A couple weeks ago we went on a vacation to Western Nebraska. Fort Robinson and Chadron to be exact. Daniel's brother Brian and his wife Rebecca just moved to Chadron so we thought we would make a little vacation out of it. It was a lot of fun...but a lot of driving. We were definitely ready to be back home after we put more than 1200 miles on our car in one long weekend.
This is our house we stayed in while at Fort Robinson. The nurses quarters. It was cute inside and Eva liked sleeping on the top bunk! I can't believe I let her do that after the first night she slept on the bottom and and I had to go pick her up off the floor. She didn't fall off the top though, thankfully!
This is the view from our house. We had a lot of fun at Fort Robinson, even though we didn't get to go on the chuck wagon supper or the hay rack breakfast, because there wasn't anyone else signed up.
On Monday we drove up to Mount Rushmore. We had just been there the year before but Eva loved it last year and since we were pretty close we decided to go back again. She loved it this year too and said after we left that she wanted to be Mt. Rushmore for Halloween. She has since changed her mind since Mt. Rushmore is boys and she is girl. That is probably a good thing since it was going to be hard to come up with a Mt. Rushmore costume.
After the little trip we dropped the kids off and Grandma and Grandpa Gronewold's for the rest of the week. The kids loved it and so did we, but we were also ready for them to come home.
Eva had to come home because she started preschool on Tuesday. she is so excited and wishes she could go everyday.
